Koutrafas Residents Oppose Mass Solar Park Installations on Fertile Land
An initiative of residents, landowners, and friends of Koutrafas village has issued an open letter condemning the "unacceptable and mass" installation of photovoltaic parks, even on the community's exceptionally fertile agricultural lands.
The appeal states that signatures are currently being collected to be presented to the President of the Republic and the President of the Parliament. The authors demand an immediate independent environmental study, legislative protection for agricultural land, and transparency regarding the parties involved.
While residents emphasize they are not against green energy development itself, they state they refuse to "sacrifice fertile land, flora, fauna, the regional climate, and groundwater for large commercial interests."
