Paphos Lighthouse
Description
The Paphos Lighthouse was built at the end of the 19th century, specifically in 1888, during the early years of British rule in Cyprus.
The British already maintained two lighthouses on Cyprus, which had been built at the end of the Ottoman period — at Cape Gata and Cape Kiti — and later constructed new lighthouses along the coastline.

The Paphos Lighthouse stands out especially against the backdrop of vegetation and hills. It is built from local stone and painted white, with clean lines and no embellishments. At the top of the lighthouse, there is a balcony with metal railings and a glazed canopy.
