Archaeological Festival in Kaleburnu Rescheduled for Sunday
The second Archaeological Festival in Kaleburnu, which was postponed due to weather conditions, will now take place on Sunday, April 20. According to a statement from the Erenköy-Karpaz Municipality, the event, with the theme "The Place Where the Sun Rises Most Beautifully," will kick off at 10:00 in the village of Kaleburnu and continue throughout the day.
The festival is being organized in partnership with the Iskele Municipality and aims to raise awareness of historical artifacts uncovered during excavations in the region, showcase local cultural heritage, and strengthen the connection between residents and visitors.
Attendees can expect a day filled with live music performances, nature walks, photo opportunities, guided tours of historical sites, children’s workshops, exhibitions, and informational booths dedicated to archaeological finds. Local artisans will also be displaying their products at dedicated booths.
Organizers hope the event will help position Kaleburnu as a place of historical and cultural importance, while also fostering stronger ties with the outside world.
Originally scheduled for last weekend, the festival was postponed due to unfavorable weather conditions.
