150 parts to be supplied to the power plant to fix the breakdown
150 nozzle parts will be supplied to the electricity production plant in Teknecik. The relevant decision by the Council of Ministers was published in the "Official Gazette".
According to the document, a preliminary investigation was conducted regarding the urgent need for spare parts. The 150 nozzle parts are required to fix malfunctions in the existing diesel engines at the Teknecik power plant, to bring them into operation, and to ensure continuous electricity supply.
It is reported that for this purpose, the Board of Directors of the Cyprus-Turkish Electricity Authority (KIB-TEK) requested the companies Wartsila Global Logistics Services and Boyar Trading & Co to supply the necessary parts as soon as possible.
According to the decision of the Board of Directors, 24 urgently needed parts were supplied by Wartsila Global Logistics Services at a price of €536.80 each, while the remaining 126 parts were to be supplied within 7-8 days by Boyar Trading & Co at a price of €375 each.
It is worth noting that the Cyprus-Turkish Electricity Authority (KIB-TEK) apologized to the residents of the TRNC for the power outages.
Recent power outages have been caused by equipment malfunctions. Specialists are working on fixing the issues and increasing production capacity.
