EU launches road safety education campaign for Cyprus schoolchildren

The EU InfoPoint has announced the launch of a series of road safety training programs in the TRNC, aimed at raising awareness among children. The initiative is being implemented in cooperation with the Traffic Accident Prevention Association.
The first session took place at the Nicosia Traffic Education Park with the participation of Mormenekşe Primary School students. The program includes 20 training sessions for students from various primary schools.
Organizers note that the training will be interactive, utilizing game-based methods, visual materials, and practical exercises. This approach is designed not only to engage children but also to reinforce safe road behavior skills.
The program places special emphasis on pedestrian rules, safe bicycle use, and general road safety principles. The campaign targets primary school students within the Turkish Cypriot community.
The EU InfoPoint emphasizes that the project's goal is to provide children with basic knowledge and practical skills to help them navigate the road environment safely and apply this knowledge in their daily lives.
It is expected that such initiatives will contribute to reducing the number of road accidents and fostering a culture of safe behavior from an early age.
