Beaten Dog in Bostancı Regains Sight After Treatment
Doctors have successfully treated a dog that was brutally beaten on the grounds of the "Yalova" sports club in Bostancı. Thanks to the intervention of veterinarian Cemalie Aküz, the dog's vision has been restored.

The German Shepherd, named Proto, was discovered severely beaten at the "Yalova" sports club in Bostancı (Güzelyurt) on October 12. The injured animal received immediate medical attention and was then sent for further treatment.
Two months later, a photo of Proto was shared by Rana Sarro, the president of the Güzelyurt Animal Protection Association.
A 74-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attacking the animal. According to the police, the suspect inflicted injuries on the dog by beating it with a wooden stick. After a hearing in the Güzelyurt court, the suspect was released on bail. Additionally, the Veterinary Department imposed a substantial administrative fine of 161,744 TL on the individual responsible for the attack.
