Mayor of Famagusta Süleyman Ulucay participated in the Kaleiçi Festival in Antalya
The Mayor of Famagusta in Northern Cyprus, Süleyman Ulucay, participated on October 13, 2025, in the 10th Kaleiçi (Old Town) Festival in Antalya, invited by the Muratpaşa Municipality.
According to the municipality, representatives from municipalities of more than twenty countries attended the event. Participants exchanged experiences on preserving the cultural heritage of historic cities.
Ulucay thanked Muratpaşa Mayor Yümit Uysal for the invitation and highlighted the importance of international cooperation for the preservation and development of Famagusta's cultural heritage in Northern Cyprus.
During the visit, Famagusta's Cultural Heritage and Historical Center Officer Hüseyin Küçüksu and Foreign Relations Officer Ali Furkan Çetiner presented a report titled “Urban Renewal and Preservation: The Case of Famagusta.” The report showcased ongoing efforts to protect the historic part of the city and its cultural assets.
On the final day of the festival, representatives of the participating municipalities signed the “Peace Declaration,” aimed at fostering cooperation between cities and contributing to the strengthening of international collaboration.
