LAÇ Municipality launches a coastal promenade project along the Alsancak shoreline

The Lapta–Alsancak–Çamlıbel (LAÇ) Municipality has announced the launch of Phase I of a coastal pedestrian walkway project in Alsancak, aimed at restoring convenient and safe access to the sea for residents.
According to the project, a pedestrian route approximately 2–2.5 meters wide will be arranged along the shoreline. The municipality emphasizes that environmentally friendly materials will be used during construction, and the works will be carried out in a way that avoids damaging trees and preserves the natural balance of the coastal zone.
The Phase I route is described as a line starting from the Kervansaray area, passing through the coastal part of Alsancak and continuing toward the Kyrenia border — up to Ada Beach Hotel.
The project also includes landscaping elements such as rest areas and viewing points, so that the promenade becomes a space not only for walking but also for everyday urban leisure. City officials emphasize the principle of “the coast — for everyone,” meaning access should be open and comfortable for both residents and visitors of the area.
