Donkey Causes Accident on Yenierenköy – Dipkarpaz Road
A road traffic accident occurred at night on the Yenierenköy – Dipkarpaz highway near the Erenköy-Karpaz municipality landfill due to a donkey wandering onto the road.
The animal was hit by a car and sustained injuries. The driver was not harmed in the accident; however, the vehicle suffered material damage.
The incident is the latest in a series of similar occurrences in the region. Local residents note that total darkness on the road at night and stray animals frequently entering the roadway continue to pose a serious danger to drivers.
District residents are calling on authorities to take action, reminding them that previous similar accidents have already led to tragic outcomes.
