Heatwave expected in Northern Cyprus: 34–37°C inland, 30–33°C on the coast (September 16–22)
The Meteorology Department (Meteoroloji Dairesi) reported on September 15, 2025, that Northern Cyprus will experience warm and relatively humid air from September 16–22. According to the forecast, maximum temperatures in inland areas will reach 34–37°C, while coastal areas will see 30–33°C.
The service noted that during this period the region will mainly be under the influence of a low-pressure system. Predominantly clear and slightly cloudy weather is expected. Tomorrow morning, fog may occur in some areas, temporarily reducing visibility on roads.
Wind in the first half of the period is expected mostly from the south and west, and in the second half from the north and east; wind speeds will generally be moderate, with occasional gusts.
These data allow residents and visitors to prepare for hot weather in advance: inland areas will experience higher temperatures, while coastal areas will be relatively cooler. Drivers and pedestrians are advised to consider the risk of morning fog and possible wind gusts.
