Sea turtle release events to be held in Northern Cyprus
On August 24, 2025, two beaches in Northern Cyprus will host public events dedicated to releasing baby sea turtles into the sea. Organizers invite residents and tourists to witness one of the most touching natural moments — when the hatchlings head into the open Mediterranean for the very first time.
The first part of the program will take place at the beach near Alagadi Turtle Paradise Restaurant & Bar. At 18:00, guests can watch the excavation of nests, and at 19:00 the release of hatchlings into the water will begin. The second location is Akdeniz Caretta Beach, where the release is scheduled for 19:15. For visitors’ convenience, the organizers have provided the coordinates of both sites.
It is emphasized that the events are completely open to everyone and require no prior registration. Admission is free. Environmentalists remind that such activities not only allow people to experience the beauty of wildlife, but also help draw attention to the protection of endangered sea turtles.
