An ice truck collided with a garbage truck in Northern Cyprus
This morning, an accident involving two commercial vehicles occurred in Northern Cyprus. On the Nicosia-Famagusta highway, an ice truck collided with a garbage truck parked on the roadside.
According to the police press service, the accident occurred around 06:30 between the 2nd and 3rd kilometers of the highway, in the direction of Famagusta. The 25-year-old driver of the ice truck knocked down a road sign on the left side of the road, losing control as a result and colliding with the parked garbage truck, which had stopped due to a breakdown. As a result of the collision, the ice truck overturned onto its side.
The driver of the ice truck was injured in the accident. He was taken to the emergency department of the Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital in Nicosia and placed under medical observation. The 54-year-old driver of the garbage truck was not injured.
Police investigation of the incident is ongoing.
