The new minimum wage in Northern Cyprus is 24,000 Turkish Lira
The Minimum Wage Determination Commission has announced the new salary for Northern Cyprus in 2024. It will be 24,000 Turkish Lira - net pay after deducting all taxes.
According to the commission's decision, the total minimum wage before tax deductions is now 27,587 Turkish Lira, and the net amount is 24,000 Turkish Lira.
During today's meeting, this decision was unanimously adopted. The new minimum wage will be applied starting from January 1, 2024.
Recall that the last time the minimum wage in Northern Cyprus changed was on July 12 of last year, fixed at 18,103 Turkish Lira (before deducting all taxes). The final amount payable was 15,750 Turkish Lira. This decision was appealed several times by trade unions but remained unchanged.
As of January 1, 2023, the minimum wage in Northern Cyprus was 13,563 Turkish Lira (before deducting all contributions). After deducting all taxes, employees received a minimum of 11,800 TL.
