Dangerous mountain road in Northern Cyprus: Pınarbaşı residents complain about the damaged Pınarbaşı–Dağyolu (Fota) section

Residents of the Pınarbaşı area in Northern Cyprus are raising the alarm over the condition of the mountain road Pınarbaşı–Dağyolu (Fota), which they say is almost impassable. Despite numerous appeals and several days having passed since the recent flooding, the damage has still not been repaired.
According to local residents, the road has significantly narrowed due to deep potholes and a destroyed road surface. In some sections, two vehicles cannot pass each other — one driver is forced to pull over onto the roadside, which in mountainous terrain creates a real risk of traffic accidents. People say they have narrowly avoided crashes on multiple occasions.
“We have repeatedly contacted the responsible services, but there has been no response. Enough time has passed since the last heavy rain, yet the road has not been fixed. We travel here every day and risk our lives,” residents note in comments to local media.
