Parliament Speaker Ziya Yöztürkler refutes diploma-related accusations
Parliament Speaker Ziya Yöztürkler issued a written statement regarding the ongoing court case concerning accusations related to the issuance of diplomas at the Cyprus University of Health and Social Sciences in Northern Cyprus.
In his statement, Yöztürkler described the information appearing in several media outlets and related to testimony from the university co-owner Serdal Gündüz as unfounded, slanderous, and not reflecting reality. He emphasized that during his tenure in public service he had no contacts with university rectors or other responsible officials regarding the issuance of undeserved diplomas or citizenship.
Yöztürkler stated that he did not provide guidance, make phone calls, or take any other actions aimed at influencing the mentioned cases, and stressed the need to inform the public of his position.
Earlier, Serdal Gündüz claimed that Yöztürkler allegedly exerted pressure to prepare a diploma for Fatma Yünal. Yöztürkler denied this information in his statement. The statement concluded with the phrase: "Respectfully brought to the attention of the public."
