About 10 kg of honey found in the attic of a Girne hotel
An unusual "treasure" was discovered at the Kemerli Konak hotel in the Zeytinlik area near Kyrenia — bees had been building honeycombs and producing honey in the building's attic for several years.
According to the hotel owner, Murat Girgen, the insects settled under the roof about five years ago. They were left undisturbed for a long time, but during an attic cleaning, staff decided to open the roof and found large honeycombs.
As a result, about 10 kilograms of honey were collected. The find sparked interest not only among hotel employees but also among local beekeeping enthusiasts.
The hotel plans to share this story with guests and make it part of their concept, emphasizing the idea of harmony between nature and humans.
