Dust Warning in Northern Cyprus Extended Until Sunday
The Meteorological Department of the TRNC has extended its urgent dust pollution warning for Northern Cyprus. According to the department, fine dust particles have been carried into the region by air masses from North Africa. The dust is expected to remain in the atmosphere until noon on March 9.
- "As dust particles from North Africa are predicted to cause air pollution in our region, citizens who are sensitive to dust are advised to take precautions," the department stated.
The dust warning was initially issued on Tuesday, March 4, and has since been extended several times. This is the second dust pollution warning of 2025. The last occurrence was in mid-January, when winds from the African continent brought similar dust conditions to the island.
