Amid ongoing protests and a nationwide strike in Northern Cyprus, the situation outside the parliament building escalated sharply today.

Following a series of clashes between protesters and police, demonstrators managed to storm the parliament building. Slogans demanding the government's resignation echoed through the corridors of the Assembly.

According to media reports, police used pepper spray, and several arrests were made. During the unrest, one police officer reportedly collapsed after falling ill.

It was noted that deputies from the CTP party stood in front of the protesters, attempting to prevent police intervention and further escalation.

The protests are taking place against the backdrop of a union-led strike against government decisions regarding cost-of-living adjustments. Unions have declared that actions will continue until the bill is withdrawn.
