Health Minister Hakan Dinçyürek inspected the Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital, where preparations for the launch of robotic surgery are nearing completion. According to him, the operating rooms are fully ready, the equipment has been delivered and installed, and the first surgeries could begin as early as this week, barring unforeseen circumstances.

The Minister emphasized that robotic surgery is one of the most advanced medical technologies, allowing for interventions with greater precision and less risk to patients. For the TRNC, this is the first experience of implementing such a system, which is already widely used in other countries.

In the initial stage, the technology will be applied in five areas: general surgery, cardiovascular and thoracic surgery, urology, as well as obstetrics and gynecology. To prepare for working with the new system, 15 doctors underwent training abroad, and once their training is complete, surgeries will be carried out progressively in various departments.

The Minister also noted that plans are in place to expand the training program for other specialists. According to him, the introduction of innovative technologies is part of a strategy to improve the quality of medical services and meets public expectations.

Hospital Chief Physician Hasan Birtan called the introduction of robotic surgery a significant step for the institution. He emphasized that the use of modern technology will improve the quality of treatment and lead to more successful surgical outcomes.
