Legendary Turkish theatre figure Haldun Dormen has passed away

Haldun Dormen, one of the most prominent figures in Turkish theatre—actor, director, educator, and writer—has passed away at the age of 97.
It is reported that he had recently been in the intensive care unit of a private clinic due to complications following the flu. His death has caused deep sorrow in Turkey’s cultural community. Haldun Dormen was born on April 5, 1928, in Mersin. In 1955, he founded Dormen Tiyatrosu, having a tremendous impact on the development of modern Turkish theatre. He was also widely known to the public for his role as Pertev in the popular TV series "Dadı".
