Tufan Erhürman to Take Oath in Parliament on Friday
Tufan Erhürman, elected as the sixth President of the TRNC, will take the oath in Parliament on Friday and officially assume office in Northern Cyprus.
The General Assembly of Parliament will convene for an extraordinary session at 09:30 under the chairmanship of Ziya Öztürkler for the swearing-in ceremony.
After the oath, Erhürman will lay wreaths at the Atatürk Monument in Nicosia, as well as at the graves of Dr. Fazıl Küçük, the leader of the Turkish Cypriot independence struggle, and the founding president Rauf Raif Denktaş.
Then, a handover ceremony will take place at the Presidential residence. Turkish Republic Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz will attend the ceremonies.
The certificate of election victory was handed to Erhürman on Monday by Supreme Electoral Council Chairman Bertan Özerdağ.
