Tourism Organizations Presented Northern Cyprus at the EMITT International Exhibition in Istanbul

The 29th East Mediterranean International Tourism and Travel Exhibition EMITT was held in Istanbul, with the participation of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Within the exhibition, the republic showcased its tourism potential on an international platform.
EMITT is considered one of the largest tourism exhibitions in the world and this year attracted about 30,000 industry professionals. Tourist destinations and brands from around the world participated in the exposition, with the Northern Cyprus stand attracting notable interest from visitors.
Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu noted that the authorities attach great importance to promoting Northern Cyprus abroad. According to him, new promotional events are planned in various regions of Turkey in the near future.
"Our goal is to make Northern Cyprus a tourist destination in demand year-round," he emphasized.
Chairman of the Union of Turkish-Cypriot Tourism and Travel Agencies (KITSAB) Oğuz Akançay stated that EMITT plays a key role in promoting Northern Cyprus tourism both in the Turkish and international markets.
According to him, the contacts established at the exhibition often develop into real partnerships and projects during the tourist season.
Secretary General of KITSAB Gökalp Alper noted that Northern Cyprus focuses not only on classic beach tourism but also actively develops cultural, nature-based, gastronomic, and sports tourism.
Board member of KITSAB Fethi Boğaç added that cooperation with Turkey in the tourism sector strengthens every year, and EMITT creates a favorable environment for direct contacts between travel agencies and the launch of new initiatives.
During the exhibition, special attention was given to issues of sustainable tourism, the development of new destinations, the expansion of international cooperation, and Northern Cyprus's strategy for year-round tourism development.
