Strange Object Spotted off the Lapta Coastline
A peculiar object resembling an oil refinery has been observed at sea off the coast of Lapta. This unusual sight on the horizon caught the attention of the well-known Cypriot writer-researcher Mete Hatay.
The author of numerous scientific works shared a photograph of the unidentified object on his social media page. In his post, the writer compared the scrutinized object to an oil refinery.
"Friends, this photo was taken this morning on the Vasilis-Lapta promenade. Does anyone know what this is? It looks like a massive oil refinery in the middle of the sea. The coast of Turkey? It's so strange that the mountains are not visible!" wrote the scientist.
The Minister of Transportation and Public Works of the TRNC, Erhan Arikli, took notice of the publication, describing the object as "peculiar and resembling a ship." Comments on the post also suggest speculations that the unknown object could be a container ship.
Mete Hatay is a writer-researcher born on November 2, 1962, in Nicosia.
