Work will begin on April 20 and last until May 5: pump replacements and meter installations will be carried out in the northeast of the island, organizers reported. The work is part of the water supply project from the Republic of Turkey to Northern Cyprus; part of the work is being performed by the "Gelişim-MITAŞ" partnership.

The outage zone will include settlements and reservoirs of Famagusta and Iskele: Yeniceköy, Geçitkale, Akova, Famagusta, Sınarıüstü, Çayırova, Yarköy, Boğaztepe, Ardahan, Kumyalı, Yeşilköy, Yeni Erenköy-1 and Yeni Erenköy-2, Derince, Dipkarpaz, and all settlements supplied by these depots. Specifically, pumps will be replaced at the Dipkarpaz pumping station and new flow meters will be installed at the Kumyalı reservoir.

In parallel, work will begin on connecting several reservoirs and lines: connecting Orta Mesarya to the main Lefkoşa–Iskele pipeline, work on the Pınarlı line, connecting Kurtuluş to the Iskele–Dipkarpaz pipeline, work on Kalecik, the Bafra tourism zone depot networks, connecting Dipkarpaz, and constructing a transition for the Yiğitler military unit depot.

Local sources will supply water until the work is completed. Residents are asked to use water sparingly and follow municipal notices and press releases for up-to-date information and restoration schedules.
