Restaurant Temporarily Closed in İskele for Sanitary Violations

In the İskele district of Northern Cyprus, municipal services conducted unscheduled inspections of restaurants and food establishments. As a result, one business was temporarily closed, and two others were fined for violations of sanitary and labor standards.
According to the municipality, multiple violations were found at the closed establishment: employees lacked medical records, and hygiene standards were not maintained in the kitchen and dining area.
Head of the Sanitary Control Department Cemal Kurteli noted that the purpose of such inspections is not punishment but to raise quality standards and ensure the safety of residents and tourists. He emphasized that the administration will continue regular inspections and urged business owners to strictly comply with sanitary requirements.
Local authorities reminded that inspections are carried out on an ongoing basis and are aimed at preventing violations that could affect consumer health and the reputation of the İskele resort area.
