A car caught fire while driving in Nicosia
In the Taşkınköy area of Nicosia on Friday morning, a car caught fire while in motion. The situation caused panic among nearby pedestrians and drivers.
The fire broke out around 08:00 in a car with license plate ER 297. The Nicosia Fire Department quickly arrived at the scene. Firefighters rapidly contained the blaze, extinguished the flames, and cooled the vehicle structure to prevent re-ignition.
The main damage was to the engine compartment, where the fire originated. Fortunately, no one was injured.
The police have launched an investigation into the cause of the incident and are assessing the damage. Thanks to the quick response of the firefighters, more serious consequences were avoided.
