Major Drug Bust in Nicosia: Police Seize Narcotics and Large Sum of Cash
Police in Nicosia have confiscated a large quantity of drugs and seized a substantial amount of cash in a targeted operation that led to the arrest of five suspects.
According to a statement from the Police Headquarters, the operation—code-named “Persistence”—was carried out by the Anti-Narcotics and Anti-Smuggling Directorate in collaboration with the Crime Prevention Unit of the Nicosia Police Department.
During the raid, officers seized approximately 347 grams of a substance believed to be an illegal drug. They also found a grinder containing traces of narcotics, along with 143,380 Turkish lira in cash. Authorities suspect the money may be linked to drug trafficking activities.
Five individuals were taken into custody and are currently under investigation for suspected involvement in the distribution and sale of illegal substances.
