TRNC bans entry for alleged members of 'organ mafia'
The TRNC Council of Ministers has banned the entry of two individuals linked to illegal organ transplantation activities.
The individuals are Yusuf Erçin Sönmez and Boris Wolfman. The decision was based on a police report and published in the Official Gazette.
According to reports, Sönmez, an Istanbul-born Israeli citizen, is wanted by Russia through Interpol on charges of intentional infliction of serious bodily harm and human trafficking. He is also cited as the alleged leader of an international organ trafficking network.
Authorities also stated that Wolfman, a native of Uzbekistan and an Israeli citizen, allegedly operated alongside Sönmez in various countries.
Law enforcement agencies assessed that the entry of these individuals into TRNC territory could pose a threat to public safety and order. Consequently, they have been prohibited from entering the country under the Aliens and Immigration Law.
It is emphasized that the decision was taken to protect public order and security.
