Live Traffic Streaming on the Kyrenia – Çatalköy Road: A First in the TRNC
For the first time in Northern Cyprus, a live online stream of road traffic is now available. Residents and visitors can monitor traffic on the Kyrenia - Çatalköy road in real-time.
According to Çeyhun Kırok, the Mayor of Çatalköy - Esentepe, this initiative has been made possible through the city's newly implemented security system, the first of its kind in the TRNC.
“In the near future, we will provide a live 24-hour feed of the traffic flow on the Çatalköy - Kyrenia road, which often experiences heavy traffic. Our goal is to allow residents to plan their routes by monitoring traffic congestion, helping them avoid unnecessary delays during peak hours,” the mayor explained.
The live stream will be accessible on the municipality's website.
In addition to aiding with traffic management, the authorities hope that the live feed will help identify vehicles that accidentally spill gravel, dirt, or waste onto the road.
The system, powered by solar energy, is capable of broadcasting high-resolution video using 4.5G data exchange.
Municipal authorities have assured that the system will provide uninterrupted service 24 hours a day, regardless of weather conditions.
