The union of doctors of the Turkish Cypriot community, TIP-İŞ, announced the continuation of strike actions, stating that after the previous protest the Ministry of Health showed no willingness to engage in dialogue and took no concrete steps to address systemic problems in the healthcare sector.

In the union’s statement, it is emphasized that the strike held on February 6 was organized in accordance with union decisions and within the framework of current legislation. However, despite this, the authorities did not initiate any process to meet the doctors’ demands.

As a result, a one-day strike has been announced for tomorrow. During the action, work will be suspended in all public medical institutions where the union operates. At the same time, emergency care, intensive care units, inpatient treatment, hemodialysis, and chemotherapy services will continue to function and will not be affected by the strike.

It is also reported that tomorrow at 10:00 a press briefing will take place at Famagusta State Hospital, where union representatives will provide information on the progress of the strike and the current situation.
