The TRNC Youth Athletics Team Returned with Medals from Turkey
The national team of the TRNC Athletics Federation, which participated in the Nejat Kök U16 Indoor Championship in Turkey held in Bursa, returned to Northern Cyprus on Sunday evening. The athletes showed high performance and won several prize places in various disciplines.
The competition took place at the Osmangazi Athletics Hall and gathered the strongest young athletes from all over Turkey. TRNC representatives managed to compete admirably and demonstrated a confident level of preparation.
The best result of the team was achieved by Erdinç İnçay, who became the Turkish champion in the high jump.
Damla Dönmez won the gold medal in the 300-meter race.
Erol Efe Bilmez took 4th place in the 60-meter sprint and became the bronze medalist in the 200-meter race.
Kumsal Arsal also reached the podium, finishing third in the 200-meter race.
The leadership of the TRNC Athletics Federation noted that the results achieved are an indicator of successful athlete preparation and a good start to the season, and also expressed confidence in new victories for the team in upcoming competitions.
