President of the TRNC Issues Statement Ahead of New Round of Contacts with the UN
President of Northern Cyprus Tufan Erhürman commented on the upcoming visit of the personal representative of the UN Secretary-General, Maria Angela Holguín Cuéllar, who is due to arrive on the island in a week.
In his address, the head of state said he was ready for serious dialogue for the sake of stability in the region, but advised the public not to raise expectations from the upcoming contacts at the very beginning of the process. The President stressed that the TRNC authorities are guided by calm and determined diplomacy and will provide citizens with reliable information in a timely manner as events develop.
