The Cyprus national handball team was involved in a traffic accident early on Saturday morning in Estonia. On the Tallinn–Tartu highway, in the Neanurme area, the bus carrying the delegation left the road and overturned due to difficult weather conditions. There were 23 people on board.

According to the Estonian Handball Federation, two members of the Cypriot team were taken to Tartu Hospital for a precautionary medical check-up. The remaining members of the delegation continued their journey on a replacement bus and safely arrived in Põlva.
