Cyprus is becoming a centre of attraction for international students
Cyprus is increasingly strengthening its position as one of the attractive destinations for foreigners seeking higher education. This is evidenced by the results of a study devoted to the country’s higher education system and its role on the international academic map.
According to the data, Cypriot universities actively attract students from abroad thanks to English-taught programmes, relatively affordable tuition fees, recognition of diplomas within the EU, as well as favourable living conditions and safety.
Particular note is made of the growing interest from students from the Middle East, Asia and Africa, alongside a stable flow from Europe. A significant factor also remains the island’s geographical position — between Europe, Asia and Africa.
At the same time, the study points to challenges: the need to further improve the quality of education, strengthen scientific research and promote Cypriot universities more actively at the international level.
