Little Ariadna is battling the rare MOGHE syndrome
In Cyprus, there is a growing wave of support for little Ariadna, who has been diagnosed with the extremely rare MOGHE syndrome — only about 50 such cases have been recorded worldwide. The girl experiences numerous uncontrolled epileptic seizures every day, which do not respond to any available treatment.
Despite three surgeries performed in Israel, no improvement has been achieved. Now, the only remaining option is the use of the RNS neurostimulation system at the UCLA Medical Center in California. This technology is used for the most resistant forms of epilepsy. Ariadna is already in the USA with her family, facing not only medical risks but also serious financial expenses for the treatment.
The fundraising effort is coordinated by the Alkinoos Artemiou Foundation, which has launched a nationwide support campaign under the slogan “Μαζί Μπορούμε” (“Together We Can”). The foundation emphasizes that the campaign is official and that the bank account for donations belongs to the organization. It is noted that public response is already significant, but fundraising continues.
The foundation urges Cyprus residents to continue supporting the initiative, as every donated amount helps ensure Ariadna’s access to the only possible treatment.
