Beer Supplies Fall in Cyprus
At the end of summer, beer supplies in the Republic of Cyprus dropped by 5.1%, and exports plummeted by 45%.
According to the Statistical Service, the total volume of beer supplied to the island in August was 4.93 million liters, a decrease of 5.1% from 5.19 million liters during the same period last year.
This decline in beer imports is attributed to reductions in both domestic supply and exports.
Domestic beer supplies in August fell by 2.1% year-on-year, totaling 4.73 million liters. Exports saw a significant drop of 45.3%, with only 0.2 million liters compared to 0.36 million liters in the same period last year.
It’s worth noting that in May, due to unusually hot weather in Cyprus, beer consumption increased. The significant rise in domestic demand led to a 9.4% boost in beer consumption.
