45 Flights Canceled in Larnaca and Paphos Amid Military Operations
In Cyprus, 45 flights were canceled yesterday at Larnaca and Paphos airports, according to the Diyalog newspaper. The cancellations are linked to ongoing military operations by Israel and the US against Iran and concerns over threats emanating from military bases.
Representatives of the Hoteliers Association stated that such cancellations are negatively impacting tourism in the Republic of Cyprus, noting a high volume of booking cancellations.
It is reported that routes connected to the Middle East have been particularly affected. Canceled flights include destinations such as Tel Aviv, Beirut, Doha, Dubai, and Amman. A connecting flight through London Heathrow was also among those canceled.
Greek Cypriot authorities have advised passengers with scheduled travel to contact airlines or travel agencies directly to clarify flight statuses. According to authorities, flight schedules may change depending on security developments and airspace restrictions.
