AT THE WORLD MEDIA CONFERENCE FLAGS OF THE TRNC AND THE REPUBLIC OF CYPRUS GOT CONFUSED
At the World Media Conference, the TRNC flag was mistakenly used instead of the state symbol of the Republic of Cyprus. The organizers' mistake occurred on the day of the 40th anniversary of the founding of the TRNC.
According to the Cyprus Mail, at the conference organized by the Emirates WAM news agency, which was attended by the Cyprus News Agency (CNA), instead of the flag of the Republic of Cyprus, the TRNC flag was used next to the CNA logo on the display panel.
Employees of the Cypriot publication noticed the mistake in time and intervened in the situation, after which the organizers immediately corrected the mistake.
The placement of the wrong flag on the interactive panel representing the various participating news agencies, next to the CNA logo, was reportedly due to a technical error.
