HUMAN REMAINS FOUND IN AKAMAS ARE IDENTIFIED
Cyprus police have identified human bones and rotted clothing found yesterday in a remote area in Akamas. They belong to a 69-year-old foreigner who disappeared about 7 months ago.
The human bones were examined by members of the Paphos Crime Department, forensic scientist Nicholas Charalambous and a DEA anthropologist.
Based on evidence found at the scene, experts concluded that the items found belonged to a 69-year-old foreigner - a permanent resident of Paphos - who went missing in April 2023. Further identification will be carried out using genetic tests.
Let us remind you that the terrible discovery was discovered the day before at about 11 o'clock in the morning. An off-duty police officer who was in the area hunting with friends noticed human bones and clothing.
The officer called police and forensics officers to the scene. Due to the inaccessibility of the location where the remains were found, an anthropologist and a government pathologist arrived at the scene by helicopter.
