Nikos Christodoulides Meets Cypriot Athletes at the Olympic Village
President Nikos Christodoulides visited the Olympic Village on Sunday, praising the Cypriot athletes participating in the Paris Games as "the best ambassadors for Cyprus abroad."
During his visit, President Christodoulides met with athletes, their coaches, and support staff, and toured the Cyprus Olympic Committee office and facilities.
"I felt it was important to visit the Olympic Village, meet our athletes personally, wish them success, and thank them for representing Cyprus so well abroad," he said.
The athletes also discussed several challenges they face with the president, including inadequate training infrastructure. Specifically, they are unable to use the Spiros Kyprianou Stadium due to renovations in preparation for the 2025 Games.
As a potential solution, there are plans to use a special gym at the "Neapolis" school in Limassol starting in late August to ensure the athletes have a proper training facility.
