Hotel occupancy in Cyprus during the Easter period ranged from 25% to 45%. This was reported by the Director General of the Hotel Association PASYXE, Christos Angelidis.

According to him, tourist activity was limited, especially from local residents. Traditionally, Cypriots prefer to travel abroad or spend time with family during the Easter holidays, so the demand for hotels remains low.

At the same time, the figures turned out to be slightly lower than usual for this period.

Most hotels have already opened for the new tourist season, and it is expected that by April 20, almost all hotels on the island will be operational.

Regarding the summer season, the situation remains difficult: cancellations continue, and new bookings are insufficient to compensate for them. Although the rate of cancellations has slowed slightly, there are no clear signs of recovery yet.

According to Angelidis, tourism is still affected by the general geopolitical situation, despite the fact that Cyprus is not directly at the center of events.

At the same time, hotels continue to actively promote the island as a safe and hospitable destination, strengthening advertising campaigns and contacts with foreign markets.
