Nicosia is looking for a project manager for the reconstruction of main pedestrian streets
The Nicosia Municipality has announced an open tender for the position of project manager to oversee the reconstruction of the capital’s main pedestrian zones, Mayor Charalambos Pruntzos told the media. The contract value for the position is €75,000.
Phase C of the project includes the restoration of the pedestrian areas on Ledra and Onasagorou streets. The total cost of the works is estimated at €12 million; funding is provided by the Revival Fund, with part of the money coming from the state budget and Nicosia Municipality. Facade improvement works are planned to start in early 2026.
The project manager will carry out independent monitoring of the works, coordinate all involved parties, and manage risks. Responsibilities will also include participation in public consultations with local business owners. The tender closes on January 9, 2026.
The municipality has already installed sun awnings on Ledra and Onasagorou streets and is improving shopfronts. Ramps have been installed at entrances to improve accessibility for people with reduced mobility. The municipality has approved stricter control of micro-mobility devices in several areas, including pedestrian streets.
