Olympic Pool in Geroskipou to Be Renovated with a €360,000 Investment
The abandoned Olympic swimming pool in Geroskipou is set to undergo a €360,000 renovation. Originally constructed in 2004 at a cost of €7 million, the pool has been closed since May 2022.
The application period for the renovation tender closed on February 28. As part of the work, the heavily corroded metal fencing around the pool will be replaced with a durable cement barrier.
In addition, the contractor will be tasked with:
- Electromechanical repairs
- Restoring the pool’s surrounding surface
- Ensuring the tank is watertight
- Installing new tiling
While the tender process was underway, the municipality has installed temporary supports to prevent the structure from collapsing.
