Paphos prepares for Anthestiria 2026: the city will turn into a flower carnival
On May 10, Paphos will become the center of one of Cyprus's brightest spring events — the Anthestiria 2026 flower festival. The city streets will transform into a festive space with a parade of flower floats, music, exhibitions, and children's activities. The festival, as noted by the organizers, symbolizes the renewal of nature and the beginning of the warm season.
The main parade starts at 16:30 on Griva Digeni Avenue and will end at 28th October Square by the City Hall. Flower-decorated floats, musical and dance groups, schoolchildren, and participants in bright costumes will follow the route. After the parade, the program will continue with a concert, creative workshops, and children's activities until the evening.
The festival also includes exhibitions of school work and a photo project dedicated to the history of Anthestiria. Guests will be offered live music, art venues, face painting, and interactive zones for children. For many residents of Cyprus, this holiday has long become one of the main spring traditions.
Anthestiria maintains its atmosphere of a simple city celebration without political undertones. It is a day when the streets are filled with flowers and the city is immersed in the mood of the beginning of summer and renewal.
