Paphos to host international triathlon: more than 240 participants to start

On Sunday, May 3, a major sporting event will take place in Paphos — Pafos Triathlon 2026, which will bring together about 240 athletes from Cyprus and abroad. The competition will determine the national champions at the Olympic distance among men and women.

The triathlon will take place in the area of the municipal baths in Kato Paphos. The organizers are Activate Cyprus and the Municipality of Paphos, supported by the Cyprus Triathlon Federation. The tournament is also officially included in the Cyprus Championship program.

Athletes from 15 countries will participate in the competition, including the UK, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Ukraine, Poland, Portugal, Israel, the UAE, and others. Participants will compete in both individual and team categories.

The start of the race is scheduled for 07:00. The sprint triathlon participants will be the first to start the distance, and at 07:50, the Olympic distance athletes will begin their performance.

The Olympic distance includes 1.5 km of swimming, 40 km of cycling, and 10 km of running — a total of 51.5 km. The sprint distance is half as long: 750 m of swimming, 20 km of cycling, and 5 km of running.

The competition is expected to attract the attention of both local residents and tourists, strengthening Paphos' status as a center for sports tourism and international competitions.
