Passenger traffic at Larnaca and Paphos airports in April 2026 decreased by 16% compared to the same period last year. According to Hermes Airports, this corresponds to a decrease of approximately 95,000 arriving passengers. The average flight load was 76%, while in April 2025, the figure reached 83%.

The company also announced adjustments to the summer flight schedule for the period from April to October. The total number of available seats decreased by about 5%, equivalent to 600,000 seats, and the expected reduction in passenger traffic is estimated at 9% or about 450,000 people. At the same time, an increase in the number of flights is already planned for September.

Despite the decline, Hermes Airports notes positive trends in recent weeks. Since April 20, the load factor of arriving flights has remained at the level of 80–85%, and in key markets — the UK and Poland — it exceeds 90%. In May, about 30 flights per day are expected from the UK, 20 from Israel, 9 from Poland, and 8 from Germany.

The company emphasized that the changes mainly concern a reduction in flight frequency rather than a complete cancellation of routes. Currently, 54 airlines continue to operate flights between Cyprus and 165 destinations in 42 countries.

Separately, Hermes Airports assured that there are no concerns about a shortage of aviation fuel on the island. According to official information, aviation kerosene reserves in Cyprus remain sufficient to support current and planned flights.
