British Bases police officer detains two teenagers suspected of theft in Nicosia

An off-duty Dhekelia British Bases police officer, while at a restaurant in Nicosia with his family, noticed two young men running with items in their hands and entering a residential building, which raised his suspicions.
He followed them and found the teenagers hiding on a landing. Nearby were a wallet, AirPods, and other items hidden behind cardboard boxes. Suspecting the items were stolen, the officer immobilized the youths and led them to the building's entrance before notifying the Cyprus Republic Police.
He remained on the scene until a patrol arrived and handed the detainees over to his colleagues, explaining the circumstances of the incident.
During the investigation, officers from Nicosia's central police station established that the teenagers, aged 15 and 14, were in possession of a wallet containing a small amount of money and other items previously stolen from a car in the area.
The minors were taken to the police station, and their parents were notified of the incident.
