Elderly Pedestrian Struck in Larnaca Traffic Accident Dies in Hospital
A fatal accident occurred in Larnaca, where a car struck an elderly pedestrian who later died in the hospital.
According to the police press service, the accident happened around 12:45 PM the previous day. A 46-year-old woman was driving her car on Agios Anargyron Avenue in Larnaca when she hit 79-year-old Michalakis Georgiou, a resident of Agios Anargyros, who was crossing the road.
The injured man was transported by ambulance to Larnaca General Hospital and was hospitalized in critical condition. Despite the doctors' best efforts, he succumbed to his injuries shortly before midnight.
The 46-year-old driver was tested for alcohol, and the result was negative. Larnaca police continue to investigate the fatal accident.
