Schools in Akrotiri to reopen following cancellation of evacuation
The kindergarten and primary school in Akrotiri village, as well as the local environmental education center, will reopen on Monday, according to the Ministry of Education of Cyprus.
The educational institutions were closed following a drone attack that struck the nearby British airbase on the night of March 2. During this week, classes were temporarily held in Kolossi village in the Limassol district.
The decision to resume school operations was made after the Ministry of Interior announced the lifting of the evacuation order for Akrotiri residents, which had been implemented after the drone incident.
