Sweden Temporarily Moves Embassy from Lebanon to Cyprus
Sweden has temporarily relocated its embassy from Lebanon to Cyprus due to the deteriorating security situation in the region.
The Swedish Foreign Minister announced on the radio that on August 1, the ministry issued an order for its staff to leave Beirut and move the embassy to Cyprus. Consequently, Swedish embassy officials in Beirut are temporarily departing Lebanon.
The minister noted that this measure is effective throughout August but could be extended depending on the evolving security situation.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is closely monitoring events, and the security situation is under continuous review,” the minister added.
